Bio
Grant is a self-taught South African artist based in Cape Town.
While he could almost always be found sketching and drawing from an early age, his creative career started in earnest as a professional musician from 1994 through to 2002.
After a long creative hiatus, exposure to the Cape Town art scene in 2023 reignited his artistic passion and kicked off a storm of creative activity where he discovered his true love of contemporary figurative portraiture.
In a very short space of time, Grant has achieved accolades in multiple prestigious national art competitions including a first prize in the 2026 Vuleka Conrad Theys Award through the Art.b Gallery, Top 100 in the 2025 Portrait Award at the prestigous Rust-en-Vrede gallery, and has representation in multiple well regarded galleries in Cape Town.
